Handmade Brutalist Modernist Chess Set

A bold and sculptural chess set in raw hand-worked steel, shaped, cut and welded individually.
Each piece has a strong architectural silhouette, somewhere between Brutalism, Bauhaus and industrial minimalism. The forms are deliberately abstract: direction, weight and movement are represented by shape rather than figurative detail.

The result is a chess set that feels like a piece of modern sculpture, not just a game — powerful, clean, and expressive.

The pieces have a natural steel finish with light aging and subtle patina from use and handling. No two pieces are identical, as each was formed and finished by hand.

Striking on display, and highly satisfying to play — the weight in the hand is excellent.
